Celta Vigo – Valladolid SOCCER PICKS

In Galicia, the followers of Celta Vigo continue to rub their eyes in wonderment. Finally, the fans had not expected that Vigo would actually be on a relegation place before the 15th matchday.

But that’s exactly what is currently the case, so the Galicians have to score points. In the upcoming comparison between Celta Vigo and Valladolid in the forecast, the much lower odds speak for a home win of the table eighth.

Celta Vigo seem to have taken the international break well and scored a very important away win at Villarreal on Matchday. By these three points the Galicians shortened the distance to the non-relegation places, so that one could leave with a home win, at least temporarily, the relegation places.

For the guest team it was less good last weekend, because Valladolid had to defeat despite a good performance against Sevilla. However, the host will definitely give everything to keep the points possible in the local Municipal de Balaidos.

Celta Vigo:

The club Celta Vigo had already in the last season great difficulties and managed in the end only just the league. This season, the Galicians were hoping for a much better development and that they would have nothing to do with the relegation battle from the start.

However, this did not work out from the very beginning and for that reason the responsible persons pulled the ripcord after the twelfth match day and dismissed coach Fran Escriba. By this time, the Galicier scored only two miseries and three draws a meager nine points and thus finished 18th place in the table.

On the other hand, there were seven defeats for Celta Vigo during this period and after a defeat against Getafe in the context of the twelfth game day coach Escriba then had to vacate his place on the bench. As a successor, they opted relatively quickly for Oscar, who had trained in the past, including RB Salzburg in the Galician.

The coach was there for one and a half years and was quite successful during this time. Most recently, Oscar gave only very short guest appearances at both Saint-Etienne and Olympiakos Piraeus. Basically, the new coach is undeniably a great expert, but also considered a big stubborn.

For this reason, it may be interesting to see to what extent the new trainer might once again be able to cope with a club for a longer time. Before the international break Oscar gave its premiere in a difficult away game in Barcelona. There Vigo was able to keep up with a half-time pretty well, but had to end up beaten 4: 1 at the bottom of the line.

Afterwards, the new coach seems to have used the international break with his team well. Finally, the Celtistas showed in the away game at Villarreal improved significantly, which then also led to a deserved 3-1 success. The decisive man in the field here was Iago Aspas, who provided in the closing phase with two goals for the first away win of the season.

Celta Vigo now wants to take this momentum home in the home game against Valladolid, where they absolutely want to refill with a home win. However, the coach still has some staff worries and probably has to do without the injured Beauvue, Junca and also goalkeeper Ruben Blanco.

Valladolid:

At Valladolid, those responsible are certainly not completely dissatisfied with the season so far. Finally, Valladolid has compared to other clubs in La Liga rather limited financial resources, so it can go for the club from the north of Spain, almost only to the league.

Currently, Valladolid is on the 14th place with 17 points and has at least five points ahead of a relegation place worked out. On Friday evening, it’s time for the table eighteenth Celta Vigo, where you could further expand its lead with another success.

So far, Valladolid have scored nine points in their home games, which is not particularly impressive compared to other teams. Also on the last weekend it ran for the troupe of coach Sergio daheim once again not as desired, because against Sevilla was treated by an early goal under the line a 1: 0 home defeat.

It was enough for Valladolid to have two wins and two draws, so the Pucelanos have taken at least one point in half of the previous away games. However, things went pretty badly in the last two away games, with both Barcelona (1-5) and Alaves (3-0) losing significantly.

That was a little surprising, partly because Valladolid had shown good defenses before and never conceded more than two goals in one match. In Vigo coach Sergio must continue to do without the injured Stive Plaza and also behind the ailing Javi Sanchez is at least still a question mark.
