Celta Vigo – Huesca SOCCER PICKS

Now yes, the latest forecasts for this 2020. I anticipate this event for Thursday, since I have decided to analyze the matches in advance and return in 2021 stronger than ever and with many goals set.

They are measured in these last days of the year, in the Municipal de Balaídos, the reborn Celta de Vigo, currently 8th in the classification with 20 points, against Huesca, which is penultimate in the table with 12 points.

I enter HA -1 mainly because of the feelings that both teams have been transmitting in the final stretch of the first leg of the season. Celta, with 5 CONSECUTIVE GAMES WITHOUT LOSING, of which 4 have been victories, has gone from flirting with relegation to being one step away from reaching European positions. The ‘Chacho’ Coudet has transformed a bland and predictable squad into players hungry for victory who give their all on the field every minute and who, led by the magician Iago Aspas, is a pleasure to see them play.

Huesca, after reaching (finally) its first victory in the top flight this season, returns to the line it has been showing all season: it plays well; compete in all matches; but it ends up being overcome by small details that, as I mentioned before, make it one of the red lanterns in the category.

If I opt for the HA -1 (which could well be -1.5; but I would have to reduce the Stake a bit and risk more, so it seems more balanced to me) it is because the game played by Huesca, in principle IT SHOULD FAVOR CELTA, which tends to suffer more against physical and defensive teams, which fall back and seek their options against (see the last game against Getafe). Huesca, on the other hand, we are not used to that style of play, but rather we have seen a team that tries to have the ball and practice a combinatorial game.
If the predictions are correct, I believe that Celta will end up taking control of the game due to the quality that their midfield players treasure and little by little the chances of Álvaro Fernández’s goal will arrive.

In addition to this analysis (broadly speaking) that makes me decide in favor of a comfortable victory for the Galician team, there are several interesting details that support this decision and that I would like to highlight:

1. If there are two players that could cause, in my view, some discomfort to the celestial defense, those are Sandro Ramírez and Rafa Mir; two fast and physical players (especially Rafa Mir), who could be superior in this aspect to Murillo and Nestor Araújo, since they are not defenders that are characterized precisely by their speed. What is the problem for Huesca? Well, Sandro Ramírez is assumed to be out for the game due to muscle discomfort and as for Rafa Mir, since the sounded disagreement with coach Miguel Ángel Sánchez has occurred several days ago, he is only enjoying the residual minutes of league matches.

2. Taking advantage of the fact that I comment on the public “riff-raff” between Miguel Ángel and Rafa Mir, it is important to know that the Huesca coach has many ballots to be dismissed if in the match against the celestial ones he does not end up taking the 3 points back to Aragon. Rafa Mir is one of the cornerstones of Huesca at the beginning of the season and I think the rest of the squad is aware that they need a change in dynamics if they want to achieve their goal. Therefore, everything revolves around a “chronic death foretold” that, except for surprise, will come sooner rather than later; and the beginning of 2021 may be the date set for it.

3. Going to the statistical section, CELTA, PLAYING AT HOME AND SINCE COUDET’S ARRIVAL, WOULD HAVE GIVEN US 3/3 GREEN, thanks to the 3-1 victories against Granada, 4-0 against Cádiz and 2-0 vs Alaves. On the other hand, Huesca, comes from giving us a green against Athletic, who managed to win 2-0 in the final minutes, thanks to an exceptional Kenan Kodro.

We enter with Stake 3.5 (moderate / high) and not with a higher stake because there are two small details that make me be a bit more cautious:

1. The referee of the match is Munuera Montero; a totally jinx referee for the Vigo team and who can decide a match with his simple refereeing criteria if the cable is crossed.

2. Huesca’s results are quite misleading, since, despite having only 12 points, they have also only lost 5 league games (9 draws and one victory); so, as I said before, it is a team that competes well and can make things difficult for anyone.

Without further ado, I wish you all a happy holiday season. I look forward to 2021 to return with renewed energy.

Good luck to those who follow me and enjoy this holiday season.
