Tonight at 19:45, in a match from the 2nd stage of the Italian football championship, Serie A, Verona will receive the visit of last season’s champion, Inter.
The most recent direct confrontations between Verona and Inter took place last season. In the round match played in Verona, Inter won 2-1, all three goals being scored in the second half. The second return match played on “Giuseppe Meazza” was won by Inter with 1-0, due to the goal scored by Matteo Darmian in the 76th minute.
Verona played two official matches this season, the first won in round 1 of the Italian Cup, where they defeated Catanzaro 3-0 and the second was the first stage of Serie A, also at home, where it was defeated by Sassuolo with 2-3, at the end of a very spectacular match.
On the other hand, Inter started with a victory in the new season of Serie A, 4-0 at home against Genoa. Simone Inzaghi debuts with a victory on Inter’s bench, another premiere being the goals of Dzeko and Calhanoglu, the two players being transferred this summer from AS Roma and AC Milan respectively.
Verona have not been able to win at home against Inter since 1992, when they got a 1-0 victory. In recent seasons, Inter has always prevailed in the duels with Verona, which also managed some equal results at home.
