Strasbourg – Lille SOCCER PICKS

RC Strasbourg and Lille are both well above expectations this season with a spot in the left row: Lille is second and Strasbourg is seventh at the time of writing, but can still descend to eighth place. Does Lille win as a favorite, or will RC Strasbourg win the match with the support of the home crowd?

RC Strasbourg:

On visiting En Avant Guingamp, RC Strasbourg once again impressed, but the desired result remained. Due to a quick opening goal of the last team and attacking impotence of the team from Strasbourg in the first half, RC Strasbourg was 1-0 behind at halftime. In the second half, Thierry Laurey’s team managed to get rid of the nerves and at the expense of some defensive shots, good chances were finally created. Kenny Lala missed with a fifteen minute play on the clock a penalty kick, but fortunately for Le Racing, the Malian substitute Lucien Zohi made his first goal in the Ligue 1 with another minute on the clock and saved a run for his team.

Upcoming Saturday there is a match against le excited Toulouse for le Racing, so it is in line with expectations that Laurey will find Saturday’s game more important than Tuesday’s game against the strong Lille. In addition, both teams play against each other again a week later than in the competition, and Laurey then have his men a chance to win in Lille for the first time in more than ten years, something they did at home last season. .

Lille:

With 25 points from eleven matches, Lille, still a major relegation candidate last season, still performs as a worthy runner-up behind the unapproachable Paris Saint-Germain. Was last week painfully won by Dijon, Caen was last Saturday without any chance against the team from Lille who failed to finish the odds. Both Nicolas Pépé and Jonathan Bamba did not have the focus, but luckily for Lille, Portuguese base-tbutant Rafael Leao, who came over from Sporting Lisbon in the summer, let his feet speak for the only goal of the match and his first goal in to draw the Ligue 1.

On Friday, Lille will face Paris Saint-Germain in the top of the twelfth round of the Ligue 1 and try to catch up with the captain of the rankings. With the form in which Lille puts out this season, there are certainly enough opportunities to get far in the cup tournaments. The big disadvantage for the team from Lille for the match of next Tuesday is that the team does not play in their own stadium – in which no points were wasted this season – but in Strasbourg, or on foreign soil, where the team of Christophe Galtier this season already missed eight points in five games.
