Namibia – Ivory Coast SOCCER PICKS

For Namibia, the last match on the African Cup will most likely follow Monday evening. The Namibians didn’t take any points in Egypt yet and have to win from Ivory Coast to keep hope for the next round. However, that seems like an impossible task, certainly because Ivory Coast must win to end behind Morocco.

Namibia:

The Africa Cup is not proceeding as hoped for Namibia. The Brave Warriors have no world players in their selection and to make matters worse, Namibia was also classified in a group with Morocco, South Africa and Ivory Coast. As a result, Namibia has so far lost all group matches and has never been certain. The only bright spot on this Africa Cup is that Namibia turned out to be a tough opponent for both Morocco and South Africa.

From Morocco, Namibia lost due to an unfortunate own goal by Itamunua Keimuine in the 89th minute. South Africa was also 1-0 too strong for The Brave Warriors on Friday-evening, although Ricardo Mannetti’s team held out against the neighboring country for over an hour. However, the reality is that Namibia is at the very bottom of the pool of death and that it must win from Ivory Coast if it wants to keep an eye on the next round. The Namibians are still dependent on the results in all other groups, although three points should normally be enough to reach the knockout phase. But as mentioned, it is already difficult for Namibia to beat Ivory Coast.

Ivory Coast:

Ivory Coast is going to finish second, third or fourth in the pool of death. After two games at the Africa Cup, the Ivorians are in second place, while Morocco is in first place with three more points. As Morocco was too strong for Côte d’Ivoire by 1-0 on Friday evening, Les Éléphants can no longer pass through the North African country. In short: Ivory Coast would like to finish in second place to avoid a tough opponent in the eighth final.

The formation of Ibrahim Kamara has everything in their own hands, because in the opening game, Ivory Coast won 1-0 vs. South Africa. Since the mutual result is more important than the goal difference, a win over Namibia is enough for Ivory Coast to finish second in group D. In that case, Ivory Coast plays in the eighth final against the winner of group E, which means that Les Éléphants is a weak opponent because Mali, Tunisia and Angola (the potential group winners of group E) have much less quality than Ivory Coast.
