FC Volendam – Dordrecht SOCCER PICKS

In the Kitchen Champion Division a double round of play is scheduled in the first week of April. For FC Volendam it is five to twelve and only counts a victory, while their opponent FC Dordrecht has known for some time that the season is over.

FC Volendam:

FC Volendam has been steadily moving up the rankings in recent months, but it is currently not in very good shape. As a result, the play-off spots are slowly getting out of sight. Last Friday, 1-1 was tied to visit MVV. It was already the eleventh draw of the season and in this area the Volendam team, together with the Young AZ, are leading the list. The last victory dates back to February 15, when a narrow win was booked at Helmond Sport. Hans de Koning knows that after six games without a win, a triple must finally be achieved again, otherwise it seems that the ambitions for this season can be crossed.

At the administrative level a small revolution is taking place at FC Volendam. Former Ajax and Feyenoord defender Keje Molenaar and singer Jan Smit will take care of the technical policy of The Other Orange. Head coach Hans de Koning took over from Misha Salden at the start of the season, but will say goodbye again in the summer. Wim Jonk has to become the new coach of FC Volendam on the recommendation of Molenaar and Smit. De Koning has to compete against FC Dordrecht without Erik and Robin Schouten. The brothers are being replaced by Mo Betti and Darryl Baly.

Dordrecht:

A lot has changed at FC Dordrecht since the winter break. Head coach Scott Calderwood stepped up, after which Claudio Braga was appointed by the board and three players from Feyenoord were hired. In the first instance it gave the people of Dordrecht a new lease of life, because after the winter break very good fourteen points were taken from the first ten games. Clubs such as Roda JC, Young Ajax, NEC and Cambuur all had a hard time with the Braga team.

Still, a little more than a week ago, FC Dordrecht was put back on both feet. On a visit to FC Eindhoven, the team ran into a monster defeat. Braga watched as his players shamed red with shame when it was dried 8-1. It was striking that the first goal only fell in the 35th minute. FC Dordrecht got the chance to go for revenge last Friday, although of course that wasn’t an easy task in advance, in Deventer with Go Ahead Eagles, the current number three of the Kitchen Champion Division. The lack of quality came to light in this game, as a poor Go Ahead Eagles took a 3-1 win.
