In the Copa Libertadores – the South American Champions League – on Thursday night, on Friday (07.07.) At 02:45 CET, the round of 16 matches between the Nacional de Football from Uruguay and the Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas from Brazil. Nacional barely managed to reach the knockout phase as a group leader, but the pants in the home Primera Division. Botafogo, on the other hand, completed the main round as a group leader, but has already lost the connection to the table top in the domestic Campeonato Brasileiro da Serie A. Contrary to the competitors, we do not believe that Nacional is favored here. But we expect at least two hits and recommend an over 1.5 goal bet.

Club Nacional

The Club Nacional de Football is a soccer club from Montevideo and one of the two formative football clubs from Uruguay. Last season, “El Decano” added the 46th championship to the long list of successes. The last big international success, however, has been waiting for a while. Also this season, the Uruguayan Primera Division is on track. After the sixth day, Nacional will be unbeaten to Torneo Intermedio with a 5-1-0 record and a goal difference of 14: 5. The team of coach Martin Lasarte in the Copa Libertadores had only reached the knockout round with luck. Two draws and two victories were enough to move into the final round with a point advantage over the third-placed team. However, the backlog to the group winners was at the end of five points.

The current form of the Club Nacional is quite handsome, but it is very difficult to classify. Because the current 4-1-0 balance sheet refers exclusively to the Uruguayan Primera Division, where El Decano is usually the tone. However, the results are rather interesting for our betting recommendation. In the last five games, there were at least two goals, on average three. Botafogo RJ

The Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas of Rio de Janeiro has a long tradition, but the great successes nationally and internationally have long been a reality. Last season, Botafogo finished fifth, claiming to qualify for the Copa Libertadores. This season, Jair Ventura’s team have not yet matched the previous year’s performance in the Campeonato Brasileiro da Serie A and are in the tenth place with a 4-3-4 record and a goal difference of 12:11. One could almost say that the priorities in this season are in international business.
