Bosnia & Herzegovina – Greece Prediction & Picks (26.03.2019)

Bosnia & Herzegovina – Greece SOCCER PICKS

No disappointment was the favorites on Saturday night in Group G of the current European Championship qualification. Both Italy, Bosnia and Greece celebrated safe victories against the underdogs in the group. On the second matchday, on Tuesday night, the rejuvenated Squadra Azzurra with soccer midfielder Liechtenstein has the next easy opponent in front of his chest, while the two candidates in second place will face each other in direct duel. Bosnia against Serbia enjoys home rights on Tuesday!

For both teams, this duel on the second match day is already absolutely trend-setting. Normally, Italy should take first place in this group. The second European Championship ticket will probably make these two teams with each other. Nations League group winner Bosnia has at least a trump in the hindquarters and could solve one of the four Nations League tickets in case of emergency. The focus, however, is on a top two place in Group G, a home win against the Greeks is targeted. The game starts on Tuesday evening at 19:45.

In the new UEFA Nations League, Bosnia was able to prevail in the Austria Group and celebrate the group victory. Thanks to this success Dzeko & Co. have not only fixed the promotion to the highest league A, but in the coming year will also deny the Nations League Final Group B tournament and could secure a ticket for the pan-European EM 2020 this way. However, this option is only the emergency plan, because the team of former Croatian international Robert Prosinecki has the quality to survive in this group can. The offensive with top striker Edin Dzeko is heavily staffed, but under Prosinecki was able to work in the last few months, the defensive much praise. The Bosnians get extremely few goals and are therefore difficult to beat. In the previous 13 internationals under Prosinecki there were only five goals conceded. Despite players like Edin Dzeko on the offensive, a shooting festival is not to be expected, because in the 13 games only eleven goals were scored. In ten of the 13 games this was the right decision.

However, three goals were scored on Saturday night in Zenica. Against extremely defensive acting Armenians a standard was needed to get the lead. A corner kick by Miralem Pjanic was exploited by Rade Krunic. In the final phase Deni Milosevic succeeded with the 2: 0 the decision. Armenia was in the form of Arsenal legionnaire Henrikh Mkhitaryan with a converted penalty in minute 93 of result cosmetics. A sovereign victory for Bosnia, but they could not convince with playful finesse.

Compared to Saturday’s game, presumably Sead Kolasinac will be fit again and take the place of Eldar Civic in the left four-back. Otherwise, changes are not expected. Greece will probably have more possession than Armenia (just under 30%), but Bosnia will not take much risk in the game forward and many chances are not to be expected.

For the Greek national team is the second away game within a few days on the program. In the Rheinparkstadion of Vaduz, the team of head coach Angelos Anastasiadis was no nakedness and prevailed with 2: 0. A mandatory victory at the beginning, which was definitely to be expected. Nevertheless, this success was not a matter of course, because in recent years, the European champion from 2004 but several times embarrassed. In the newly created UEFA Nations League Hellas finished in third-rate league C behind Finland and Hungary – and ahead of Estonia – only the disappointing third place. Given the existing player material a pure disappointment.

Recently, Defense Boss Sokratis gave deep insights into his emotional world and the existing pressure on the national team. He complained about the immense pressure and also stated in the interview that the team lacks quality in order to be successful again. Against the Principality of Liechtenstein, he got a pamphlet and had to sit on the bench. However, he is needed again against Bosnia, because with Kostas Manolas the second strong center-back loses out injured. Also not available is top striker Konstantinos Mitroglou, who injured on Saturday. Instead of the Galatasaray striker will probably move the Stuttgart Donis (scorer to 2: 0) in the starting lineup. An upgrade on the defensive and a serious failure on the offensive to book.
