Akhisar Genclik Spor – Fenerbahce Prediction & Picks (10.05.2018)

Perhaps a bit unexpected Fenerbahce is now in the final of the Turkish national cup, the Türkyie Kupasi. Unexpected because the semi-final second leg against Besiktas Istanbul was canceled due to riots first and Besiktas coach Senol Günes was badly injured in the head by an opposing fan by a missile. The second leg should be continued after these events, however, on Thursday of last week without audience. As Besiktas did not play the second leg under protest, the encounter was scored with a 3-0 win for Fenerbahce.

Whether this decision of the Turkish Football Association was legal or fair, may be left open. If you look at the purely sporting achievements of Fenerbahce in the last games in the cup and league, then the entry into the final at least does not seem undeserved. However, the team Akhisarspors clearly deserves the entry into the cup final. After a close 1-2 defeat in the first leg against clear favorite Galatasaray, Akhisarspor managed to inflict an almost historic 2-0 home defeat on the “lion”. Galatasaray gave the trophy lightly, while it is Fenerbahce bringing the Türkyie Kupasi to Istanbul.

Fenerbahce:

Overall, Fenerbahce’s performance in the current season rose relatively slowly but steadily until the last games. After six victories in the Süper Lig in a row, they fought back into a good starting position for the championship and is now, if perhaps a bit surprisingly, in the cup final. Fenerbahce have been unbeaten in eight games, scoring more than 2.6 times on average and scoring just 0.5 goals in those games. However, none of the last four games was conceded, but this may be due to the more offensive play in the final sprint for the championship. The last defeat Fenerbahce had to accept 2: 3 against Akhisarspor in his own stadium.

A defeat, however, which resulted in the aftermath of the heavy games against Besiktas in league and cup, after which Fenerbahce was technically struck. Except for the still injured midfielders Dirar and Zeybek, the team is in any case fit and on the offensive succeed the goals accordingly regularly. The long-injured top striker Vincent Jansen is again available as a striker, resulting in more tactical variants for the coach Aykut Kocaman on offense. In the final game against Bursaspor, however, the odds were not optimal, despite the massive tactical field superiority and the crucial winner only succeeded in the 90th minute, while the equalizer was only an own goal. Nevertheless, Fenerbahce is fit and in good shape. The only drawback to the current form may be that the team only had three days of rest since the exhausting game against Bursaspor.

Akhisar Belediyespor:

The shape Akhisarspor ran away during the season. After a very strong start the shape curve flattened, one caught in between and showed his best games in February against Buraspor and Fenerbahce. With the mandatory victories against Karabükspor and Konyaspor one had a run of four victories in a row. Since the surprising away win against the then weakened Fenerbahce but you back into a weaker phase. In the league Akhisarspor has been without a win for eight games, even if you were, for example, Basaksehir and especially Galatasaray quite defied, but ultimately remained unsuccessful in front of goal. In the cup Akhisarspor was technically not much stronger and it usually only get close victories.

After the home defeat in the first leg of the Cup against Galatasaray was the favorite from Istanbul in his own stadium against the handicap-starting club of Akhisarspor then but too sure and sent only a B-Elf on the field. This resulted in a surprising victory for Akhisarspor through early goals, which Galatasaray was unable to catch up to the end of the game, especially since Galatasaray had to act from the 77th minute outnumbered. That Akhisarspor could beat the favorites at home, was until then unique because the lions had not lost a home game before. Akhisarspor’s team are injured due to defensive midfielders Serginho and Ataseven, as well as center-forward Henrique and Evgen Seleznev, who are denied a yellow card suspension in the cup final. In addition, missing the number one goal in the gate by a yellow -Rotsperre, goalkeeper Milan Lukac.
