Feyenoord-vs-Willem-II

Willem II – Feyenoord SOCCER PICKS

Feyenoord will play an away match against Willem II on Sunday-afternoon. The Tilburgers know a lesser period after a good start.

Willem II:

Willem II was one of the revelations of the first weeks of this season. The last few weeks it is slightly less good for the Tricolores. From the four most recent matches, Willem II scored only two points. The defeat at PSV might have been factored in, but against Excelsior, Fortuna Sittard and De Graafschap, coach Adrie Koster had probably counted on more than two points.

Last weekend was lost at De Graafschap (2-1). That loss was largely due to the two red cards received by the Tilburg residents. With ten men, Willem II came back from behind, by a goal from Dries Saddiki. With two men less, however, it became a difficult story. In the final phase the Tilburg team had to capitulate – Fernando Lewis passed his own goalkeeper. For the match of Sunday, Koster again has Araz Özbiliz.

Feyenoord Rotterdam:

The club from Rotterdam currently does not play the stars of heaven at all. However, the team of Giovanni van Bronckhorst takes the points that it has to take. That is how they won last weekend, after a tumultuous second half of Vitesse (2-1). Robin van Persie was, for the first time this season, of vital importance to Feyenoord. Just before time, from a free kick, it hit the winning goal against the ropes.

In his zeal he later put on an awkward tackle, which was punished with a red card. The disciplinary committee of the KNVB set high this week, with a settlement proposal of three matches (a conditional one). Van Persie and Feyenoord did not agree and prevented the case. The defense of the Rotterdammers was so convincing that the top scorer of all time was acquitted from the Dutch squad. So he can play on Sunday.

Sam Larsson, who fell against Vitesse, can now play a whole match again. Nicolai Jørgensen is again available for ninety minutes. Kenneth Vermeer will defend the goal, as Justin Bijlow is not fit yet.
