Hoffenheim – Augsburg SOCCER PICKS

At the end of the 10th matchday in the Bundesliga, there will be a duel between Hoffenheim and Augsburg on Monday. According to the odds, the home side go into the game as favorites, although the latest impressions paint a different picture. After all, the Kraichgauer could not win seven games in the league.

To make matters worse, the team of coach Sebastian Hoeneß is already playing the second English week in a row and therefore has to play the fifth competitive game in the past 16 days. In terms of fitness, the guests from Fuggerstadt should not have any disadvantages, on the contrary …

Anyway, before the duel between Hoffenheim and Augsburg, we would describe a successful prediction on the FCA as quite realistic, as the Herrlich-Elf only lost one of four away games this season, most recently even kidnapped a point from Champions League participant Borussia Mönchengladbach and in The Bundesliga ranking is currently even ahead of the upcoming opponent.

But because it is still very risky to tip on the away win between Hoffenheim and Augsburg, we focus on the double chance. Attractive quotations are offered for the supposed outsider to gain points. If you want to take a little more risk, you can also try a bet on the two-way market, which guarantees cashback in the event of a tie.

Hoffenheim:

TSG Hoffenheim is really not to be envied these days and weeks. Although the Kraichgauers will certainly benefit from the fact that the game against FC Augsburg will take place on Monday and that the players have at least three full days to regenerate after the arduous Europa League trip to Belgrade (0-0), it is, as mentioned at the beginning, already around the fifth competitive game in the last 16 days. A certain loss of substance is therefore likely.

In addition, the team of coach Sebastian Hoeneß is currently finding it difficult to use the full potential in the league. None of the last seven matches in the top German division was won (three draws, four bankruptcies). The last two matches ended in a draw; the last victory, a 4-1 at home against FC Bayern, was meanwhile from the end of September.

The biggest construction site for the blue-whites is still the defensive. So far, keeper Oliver Baumann has never been able to keep the box clean. Those responsible cannot be really satisfied with the season so far. This becomes clear, among other things, in the fact that in the now long history of TSG, only two coaches (Stevens, Kurz) scored fewer points in their first nine games than the nephew of the long-time president of FC Bayern.

Against this background, we can only partially understand that Hoffenheim against Augsburg is so clearly lifted into the role of favorites according to the odds of the best bookmakers. Especially because important players will still be out. In particular, the defense is thinned out due to the injuries of Bicakcic, Hübner, Kaderabek and Stafylidis. In addition, Dennis Geiger is blocked and not available.

Augsburg:

FC Augsburg is the personified average on the first nine match days. There are currently three wins against just as many draws and defeats. The goal difference is also almost equal at 11:12. The current table shows that the average for the people of Fuggerstadt is by no means bad. Coach Heiko Herrlich’s team is still in ninth place after the Saturday game and even has the opportunity to join the European Cup ranks on Monday evening.

On the past two match days, the FCA had to be satisfied with two draws. If the 1-1 draw at Borussia Mönchengladbach was a success, those responsible would have expected a little more than one point at home against Freiburg most recently. By the way, it became clear once again that the southern Swabians are currently stronger away from home than in their own stadium.

From a purely statistical point of view, this is clear from the fact that after the restart of the Bundesliga, Augsburg scored three points more abroad than at home, even though they played two more home games. In the current season there were five points in four guest appearances. Only in the still unbeaten Leverkusen there was a 1: 3 defeat. Interesting: So far, the Herrlich-Elf has only met clubs that are behind the FCA in the tableau. This will now change on Monday.

You have to pay particular attention to the last quarter of an hour for the Fuggerstadt residents. There they scored six of their eleven goals, laying the foundation for the best start in their Bundesliga history in the closing stages. Since the home side may get tired as the game progresses on Monday, the guests’ crunchtime strength could become an X factor. In terms of personnel, there are virtually no new losses to complain about. Bazee, Jensen and Moravek are out. Finnbogason is still in question. Nevertheless, a forecast for the solid guests between Hoffenheim and Augsburg seems very promising.
