Nurnberg – St. Pauli Prediction & Picks (06.10.2019)

Nurnberg-vs-St.-Pauli

Nurnberg – St. Pauli SOCCER PICKS

Derbies are the salt in the soup of a season and can depress and inspire a team as well. Example complacent? The FC St. Pauli won in the eagerly awaited Nordderby against the then leaders HSV. Since then, it has been happening in the Kiezkickern and the sad weather after the messy start to the season is a thing of the past.

The Brown-Whites are unbeaten in five games and at home three wins were celebrated in series. The first threesome in foreign countries is still to come – but already at the weekend here is the next chance. The challenge for the North Germans, however, is great. It goes to Nuremberg to one of the candidates for promotion. The Franks have also recently received a real push forward.

The Elf of Thus Canadi won in the duel of the relegated at Hannover 96 with 4: 0 and put it a fat exclamation point. At home, the clubbers want to now refill and their role as a favorite against the Hamburger meet. Between Nuremberg and St. Pauli the odds of the bookmakers are distributed in favor of the hosts.

The starting position is so clear and it is only the question of whether the hosts finally obtain the required consistency of a top team. So far, the club has not even won in two consecutive games. This chance will be on Sunday afternoon when the kick-off at the Max Morlock Stadium will sound at 12:30.

Nuremberg:

Football curious! If you take a look at the statistics of the Monday match between Hannover 96 and 1. FC Nürnberg, you will hardly predict the final result correctly. The ball possession was 76: 24% in favor of the 96er. Also with the goal shots (10: 8) and corners (6: 1) the hosts were clearly ahead. The scoreboard on the HDI Arena scoreboard said something different – 0: 4.

In other words, it can be said that the guests from the Franconia acted mercilessly efficient in front of the opponent’s goal in the duel of the relegated and put all their four shots on the goal also in the case. In the strong away game in which the whole team convinced in the collective, three players stood out especially. Georg Margreitter shone as a two-time scorer and was thus the match winner par excellence.

A perfect interaction showed Robin Hack, the shooting star at the club, and Hanno Behrens. They each put a hit on each other. With the threesome, Nürnberg moved up to seventh place in the table of league 2 and keeps the connection to the leading group. The success has hinted in the last weeks. After the bad start of the season and the great criticism in the environment, the trend has been pointing up for some time. After three draws, in which more would have been in there, followed finally again a threesome.

So far, the club has not yet managed to win two victories in a row. On Sunday, it is now off this failure against the Kiez club. Coach Damir Canadi will hardly make any changes in terms of personnel. Captain Hanno Behrens will again lead his team as captain on the field. He wants to move forward again to help with his rising performance curve, that the club before the international break even closer to the promotion places.

St. Pauli:

Make a virtue of necessity – the FC St. Pauli succeeded in the home game against SV Sandhausen last weekend. The injured Kiez kicker had to change again: Coach Jos Luhukay is not to be envied these days. After the acclaimed derby victory against HSV and the hard-fought draw in Osnabrück, the Dutchman did not want to change his starting eleven.

But due to the failures of Lawrence and Diamantakos he had to rotate. Sobota and Gyöleres moved into the team. The same Viktor Gyokeres was later to play a major role. In injury time of half time 1, he met for the first time in the football lower house and marked the 2-0 for his team. He was actually not the first premier scorer on the Hamburg side.

After just eight minutes, the only 19-year-old Finn Ole Becker made for the 1-0. A concentrated defense after the break was enough to retain the three points at Millerntor and extend the current series. At home, St. Pauli has now won the last three games; Overall, the club has also been undefeated for five league games. To continue the balance, a big challenge has to be mastered. Last but not least, the starting grid of the guests should provide suspense for the test in Nuremberg.

Due to the good performances of the actors from the second row Jos Luhukay suddenly has a small luxury problem in some positions, about which the coach but will not complain after the last few weeks. Certainly the post is certainly in the gate. Although Robin Himmelreich is the undisputed number one there, until further notice he will be represented by youngster Leon Schmidt. Substitute keeper Brodersen was operated on Monday and is missing after his broken collarbone even longer. However, this staffing should not play a big role between Nuremberg and St. Pauli for a forecast.
