Wolfsburg – Shakhtar Donetsk SOCCER PICKS

Wolfsburg welcomes the reigning and probably also coming Ukrainian champion in the form of Shakhtar Donetsk in the round of 16 of the Europa League. Like so many games this week, this will be played without a viewer due to the increasing spread of the new corona virus.

The wolves took part in a European competition for the first time after four years of interruption and have so far hardly shown themselves. Only one bankruptcy was recorded in the group phase. Lower Saxony are currently very stable in the Bundesliga. Most recently, RB Leipzig had a goalless draw against its own backdrop.

With Donetsk, however, a similarly heavy opponent is now arriving. The Ukrainians come from the Champions League and bowled Benfica, a well-known opponent from the competition in the previous round. The Wolfsburg against Shakhtar Donetsk tip includes a double goal celebration.

The guests have a very dangerous offensive, but at the same time are significantly less successful in preventing hits. The four goals against from the previous rounds have shown this deficiency once again. Already in the group phase of the premier class none of the six group games ended with a clean sheet.

Our side section of the Europa League betting base combines further analyzes of the games of the current day in a clear form. The Wolfsburg vs. Shakhtar Donetsk forecast is linked to five units.

Wolfsburg:

The wolves are in a strong phase. After the start to 2020 was largely bad with bankruptcies against Effzeh and the old lady from Berlin, the team of coach Oliver Glasner has caught again. For eight competitive games in the Bundesliga and Europa League has not been lost.

Instead, the record for this period shows five wins and three draws as last Saturday against the table runners-up from Leipzig. In the Europa League in particular, the green and whites presented themselves very strongly. Two wins were won against Malmo in the previous round.

On top of that, the group phase was mastered with ease. Only one defeat against the buffalo from Ghent, second in the table in the Belgian Jupiler League, had to be booked. Admittedly, the task in the group was otherwise rather easy with Saint-Etienne from France and Olexandrija from Ukraine.

The 2009 champion can mainly rely on his offensive in the Europa League this season. This networked in each of the eight games! In defense, on the other hand, the Brazilian William and in the central midfield, the Frenchman Joshua Guilavogui cannot continue.

However, the two failures in the past few weeks have had no negative impact on the results. This can be seen from a record of three wins and two draws in the period in which the players were no longer available for the cup winner of the year 2015.

Shakhtar Donetsk:

The Ukrainian champion knocked out a heavyweight of European football with Benfica in the last round. After a 2-1 win against their own backdrop, a wild 3: 3 was enough for the triumph in the second leg. The orange-blacks had previously failed in the Champions League in the group phase.

In the last decisive group game against Atalanta Bergamo, a 0: 3 swatter was conceded in front of their own backdrop in the alternative quarters in Kharkiv, which was permanent because of the still smoldering Ukraine conflict.

However, the team of Portuguese coach Luis Castro, who took over the job from his compatriot Paulo Fonseca last June, performed very consistently on the other side. The Donetsk lost none of the three away games and even drew a Premier League title holder in the form of Manchester City.

At least one goal was scored in all matches. A pattern that has continued in the aforementioned tie against Benfica in the Europa League. Junior Moraes is once again playing particularly well with the country’s twelve-time champion this season.

The 32-year-old veteran came from arch-rival Dynamo Kiev two years ago and immediately turned out to be the hoped-for reinforcement for the offensive. The attacker took the crown in the Premier League scorer scoring and in the current season Moraes is again at the top of the ranking of the strongest goal getters.

With the Brazilian Taison, the 2009 UEFA Cup winner also has another very dangerous offensive player in his ranks. The latter actor is above all a gifted preparer of hits. Last season, no other player in the Ukrainian Oberhaus put on goals for his teammates.

In addition, he already takes the top spot again. In view of this, the odds for double chance in favor of “Hirnyky” are also available at Wolfsburg against Shakhtar Donetsk.
