Oleksandriya – Wolfsburg SOCCER PICKS

For all three German teams are on Thursday evening important games in the Europa League group stage on the program. While the Frankfurt Eintracht at Arsenal FC must ran and Gladbach wants to revenge in Wolfsberg for the embarrassment of the first leg, the VfL Wolfsburg has the supposedly lightest lot in front of the chest. The “wolves” travel to the Ukrainian representative PFK Olexandrija.

If we consider the odds of the bookmakers before the duel between Olexandrija and Wolfsburg, it becomes clear that the team of coach Oliver Glasner favors the encounter. Already the first meeting in the context of the first matchday could win the Green-Whites at home with 3: 1 for themselves. In the following three matches, however, the VfL was denied another threesome.

With now five points out of four games, the Bundesliga club still ranked second in Group I and despite the recent defeat at home to Ghent progress in their own hands.

Should the Lower Saxony win on Thursday evening in the east of Europe and St. Etienne at the same time at home against Gent do not record success, the car drivers would be ahead in the semiquavers.

But even the Ukrainian underdog can still calculate chances to progress, but only if between Olexandrija and Wolfsburg the tip for a home win should prove true.

In the event of a tie, there are quite a few contingencies that would make the group stage debutant make the leap to the last 32. Because the outsiders have to play bravely forward and win in what is the last “home game” in the evasion arena in Lviv, we consider an Olexandrija against Wolfsburg’s prediction of a sovereign outright success of the “Wolves” to be quite obvious.

The winners at the weekend in the Bundesliga Niedersachsen have fueled self-confidence and now want to confirm the positive impressions from the Eintracht game.

Olexandria:

For the football club from Olexandrija in the center of Ukraine alone is the participation in the Europa League group stage a great thing. Thanks to the third place in the domestic league last year, the black and yellow Greens did not even struggle through the qualification, but were immediately for the first time in club history in the main field of international competition.

Although the team of coach Volodymyr Sharan has little experience at this high level, she sells so far very expensive. With the exception of the 1: 3 defeat on the first matchday in Wolfsburg, the Eastern Europeans remained unbeaten in the remaining three games.

Both in the two home games against Ghent and St. Etienne and in France, the outsider fought one point and thus keeps the arithmetic chance of entering the knockout round alive.

However, if the match against VfL Wolfsburg is lost on Thursday evening, the dream of progressing would be over. Even in the case of a tie, chances are reduced to a minimum.

If the Sharan-Elf really wants to make the little miracle perfect and hibernate in Europe for the first time, she has to play for victory at home. After all, the hope is that the Ukrainians scored at least one goal in all four group matches so far.

In the domestic league, however, remained in three of the past five matches without own scoring, with the result that the black-yellow greens with only two wins in this period (two draws, one defeat) have slipped to number five. At least the dress rehearsal at the weekend was victorious 1-0 against Sorja Luhansk.

Considering the fact that the hosts have to take more risks than they might have wished, the Olexandrija Vs. Wolfsburg tip on a start-finish victory of the guests very interesting. The Ukrainians were 1-0 down in all four Europa League games and were also behind in three of four occasions. So also on Thursday?

Wolfsburg:

The most important finding from Saturday was from Wolfsburg’s point of view, that the downward trend could be temporarily stopped. After four previous competitive defeats in series in three different competitions VfL won at Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0, thus maintaining itself in the top half of the Bundesliga.

Especially defensive coach Oliver Glasner seemed to have turned the right screws. After an incredible 14 goals in the mentioned four matches before the international break, the defense presented itself much more stable and did not let the strong Eintracht offensive in the Commerzbank Arena come to the fore.

The strong performance in the previously undefeated Hessen home is certainly one of the main reasons why we recommend the odds for an away win on Thursday between Olexandrija and Wolfsburg. Qualitatively, the green-whites are also more appreciated, which is why we expect even a relatively clear success.

Another positive aspect is the fact that the Lower Saxony have been unbeaten for seven European Cup appearances (three wins, four draws). Overall, the car drivers conceded in eleven away games in the Europa League only two defeats – both, however, in England. In Ukraine, the “wolves” have never been guests at the international level.

Finally, it should be noted that the Glasner-Eleven was at the break in all three victories in foreign countries (in Mainz, in Berlin and finally in Frankfurt) ahead. Consequently, an Olexandrija vs.. Wolfsburg forecast on the HT 2 / FT 2 certainly not too far-fetched, especially since the favorite also led in the first leg after 45 minutes and finally left the field as a 3-1 winner.

Personnel Oliver Glasner hardly has to cope with failures. With Koen Casteels, Xaver Schlager and Admir Mehmedi three top performers celebrated their comeback at the weekend after a long injury break. Daniel Ginczek came after a laborious ordeal at least in the U23 used. Thus, only Ignacio Camacho remains in the hospital.
