Gent – AS Roma Prediction & Picks (27.02.2020)

With Gent against AS Roma, a particularly exciting second leg of the current round of the Europa League is increasing. The Flemish kickers posted a narrow 0-1 defeat in the first leg. Not an ideal result, but given the strong favorite role of the Italians in advance, the result was better than many experts had expected.

Gent stood up to the wolves and would have deserved a draw given the evenly distributed game shares. In her view, it was also gratifying that Laurent Depoitre’s return by storm. The 31-year-old had previously been injured and with him the KAA now has one of its best offensive players on board again.

Both teams have powerful lines of attack and Ghent have to be offensive in the game against the Giallorossi to compensate for the deficit from the first leg.

Of course, this also gives the three-time Italian champion sufficient counter-chances for their own hits. It starts in the Ghelamco Arena at 17:55 p.m. on February 27th. The Ghent vs. AS Rom Tipp is played with five units.

At this point we would also like to point out our further analyzes for the games in the continental competition, which are available in the betting base Europa League section.

The buffalo will mainly rely on their home strength in the upcoming match. In 20 games against their own backdrop in the Europa and Jupiler League, the selection of the Danish coach Jess Thorup has remained without defeat this season: Instead, a proud 16 wins and four draws have been won.

In home league operations, Ghent even has the best home record ahead of the leaders from Bruges. The 2016 champion also completed the Europa League group stage without bankruptcy. The offensive of the footballers from West Flanders was particularly convincing.

In this context, Jonathan David is currently the most important player. The Canadian is only 20 years old, but acts as ripped off on the court as a veteran. In five of the seven competitive games in 2020 so far, David put in one or two doubles and on the last matchday in the home league by hat-trick against St. Truiden.

He scored three goals in the match for the first time in his young career. With 18 goals, he takes first place in the scorer scoring of the Jupiler League. But not only that: With eight assists, no other player in the league puts on as many hits for his teammates.

In the match between Ghent and AS Roma, we assign additional value to the odds for another goal celebration by Jonathan David. Currently, a lucrative Guts Bonus can be used for new customers.

As mentioned, the Canadian Laurent Depoitre now has a similarly powerful attacker at his side in the game. The Belgian was not used last weekend, but this was only a precaution in view of the match against Rome, where he will certainly be used.

The only downside from a personal point of view is that the Ukrainian Roman Yaremchuk is still missing. The national team player from his country until recently completed the powerful trio by storm.

AS Rome:

The Italians ended their group stage in second place behind the Turkish representative Basaksehir. The only defeat was again collected against Borussia from Mönchengladbach.

Although very unfortunate, because the foals only scored the decisive goal in the fifth minute of added time and an own goal had been produced before. With three goals, veteran Edin Dzeko is once again the most accurate in the competition.

The Bosnian is currently also scoring very reliably. So the 33-year-old got involved in five of the last seven competitive games. The kickers from the Eternal City have recently decreased in league operations. The fourth place, which still entitles to participate in the Champions League, had to be handed over to Atalanta Bergamo.

Three of the last five league games ended in failure, although at least part of the opposition came from the midfield of the Serie A table. One reason is somewhat tense personnel.

Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca, who took office this season and previously coached Shakhtar Donetsk’s selection for more than three years, has had to do without a few injured players over the past few weeks. Examples are the two midfielders Amadou Diawara from Guinea and Javier Pastore from Argentina.
