LIVERPOOL VS FC PORTO FREE PICKS

With a 0-5 victory from the first leg of the match, Liverpool is almost assured of a place in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. FC Porto, however, is planning to leave the European champions ball with a lifted head and wants to show its best side on Anfield Road!

Liverpool :

With an odd of 12.00 (Interwetten), the bookmakers in Liverpool still see no more than an outsider for Champions League-win, despite the fact that the English already regularly made top-class football on the mat this season. In the group stage of European million ball, the formation of Jürgen Klopp was good for no less than 23 goals and made it hard against, among others, Maribor (0-7) and Spartak Moscow (7-0). However, it was the 0-5 monster victory at FC Porto in the Estadio do Dragao in the first leg of the eighth finals with which The Reds really impressed the global football audience. Sadio Mane in particular had a hat-trick on his hips on Valentine’s Day, while Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino also managed to win their usual goals. Liverpool is in top form and last weekend also tied Newcastle United to the victories thanks to goals from Salah and Mane. Liverpool won five of its last six games in all leagues and scored no less than eighteen times in those matches.

With the comfortable 0-5 lead from the first leg and with the cracker against arch rival Manchester United on Old Trafford from the coming weekend in prospect, it would not be strange if Klopp would give several basic powers rest on Tuesday evening. In particular the attack trio Salah, Firmino and Mane were the last ten official duels each time in the base and might therefore benefit from a snipper evening. Klopp, however, is not yet sure of his case and has already announced that he will start with a strong basic eleven: “We must remain vigilant, because the proud FC Porto will continue to fight until the last second. This is the Champions League and the whole world is watching. I did not think for a second to spare players. ‘ The German therefore takes the return very seriously, even though he has an almost complete selection at his disposal. Georgino Wijnaldum and Ben Woodburn are the only doubts for Tuesday night.

FC Porto :

FC Porto needs a miracle after the 0-5 earwashing three weeks ago to join the last eight of the European champions ball. Last season in the memorable dip against Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona cleared a backlog of five goals, but the chance that the Portuguese will also be capable of such a piece of art is of course tiny. If you think otherwise (and if you are indeed right) then Betsafe and Betsson are willing to make your bet over three hundred and fifty-fold …

In any case, FC Porto has recovered well since that three-week-long misfortune. Os Dragoes won their last four league matches and did great business in the Portuguese title fight last Friday by surrendering direct competitor Sporting CP 2-1. “We are well on our way,” said trainer Sergio Conceicao, who now leads five and eight points ahead of Benfica and Sporting CP respectively. Still, it is not just the smell of roses and moonlight in the Estadio do Dragao, because the coach saw club top scorer Moussa Marega (twenty goals in 24 games) break out on Friday night. The Malian must therefore ignore the trip to Anfield Road, while co-attacker Tiquinho Soares is still in the rags basket. The good news is that vice-club top scorer Vincent Aboubakar (fifteen goals in 22 duels) is fit again and against Sporting CP as a substitute made his comeback, although it is still unclear whether Conceicao dares to him in and against Liverpool immediately again for the lions to throw. The Portuguese are so battered on Tuesday-evening, and in terms of goals they are mainly dependent on Yacine Brahimi. The Algerian is not a notorious goal getter, but managed to put his name on the scoreboard in the last two matches of FC Porto. The wing attacker was often the target of criticism earlier this season, but is now starting to take shape again.
