Real Madrid – Alaves SOCCER PICKS

In its own Alfredo di Stefano, Real Madrid can take another big step towards the Spanish league title. Opponent Alaves is completely out of shape, but hopes with the appointment of her new coach on a shock effect.

Real Madrid:

Real Madrid has the 34th league title in club history up for grabs. If Los Blancos also beat Alaves on Friday evening, the difference with archrival FC Barcelona is again four points, while the mutual result is also in their favor. The Madrilenians, including Granada-away and Villarreal-home, still have a few difficult matches to choose, but as a top club you can of course no longer give up on that.

In any case, Madrid’s confidence is high, as Zinedine Zidane’s star formation has been flawless since the LaLiga restart. The game is not always sparkling but very solid, so that Real Madrid usually has one or two formidable moments from Karim Benzema or a striking penalty from Sergio Ramos usually enough to win the match. They make the difference in this final phase of the season together with the excellent goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Ramos will have to stay aside against Alaves because of a suspension, while Eden Hazard will probably also have to be absent. Zidane will have to make some changes to his starting eleven on Friday evening, although with such a wide selection, that should of course not be a problem.

Alaves:

Alaves is on a dramatic streak of five consecutive defeats. Last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Real Valladolid was the proverbial straw for trainer Asier Garitano, who was able to pack his weight. Former Malaga coach Juan Muniz signed a contract until the end of the season, so the task is to save the club from Vitoria from relegation. With four rounds to go, the Basques are six points above the relegation zone, but with remaining duels against, among others, Getafe, FC Barcelona and of course Real Madrid, physical preservation is definitely not yet a certainty.

Alaves hopes to turn the tide under Munoz, but according to sports newspaper AS, the new coach seems to plan for the time being to stick largely to the ideas of his predecessor. He will have to puzzle in his rearguard anyway, since first goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco and left back Ruben Duarte are in the rag basket. Roberto Jimenez and Adrian Marin are likely to replace them.
