West Brom – Crystal Palace SOCCER PICKS

On the Hawthorns West Bromwich Albion takes on Premier League team Crystal Palace. West Bromwich was the last to be ranked last in the Premier League last season. It had to be budgeted back in the Championship, but it has a year of bridging in terms of finances so that the best players have remained. Crystal Palace played bloodlessly 0-0 in the home game against Newcastle United last week. Is it a surprise at The Hawthorns?

West Bromwich Albion:

West Bromwich Albion reported last weekend by a 2-0 win over low flyer Millwall at the top of the Championship. After nine games it is seventeen points. Most of these points (twelve) were obtained in-house. Only a slip on the first match day against Bolton Wanderers (1-2) caused a small hitch. Because with a 100% home score it now had the ranking. However, the team of manager Darren Moore is in top form. Ten points were obtained from the last four games, which puts it third. In total (all leagues included) it is six matches on the Hawthorns undefeated.

Darren Moore with his reaction after the win against Millwall: ‘It is new for us that teams come here with a closed defense. They do not keep an open house in the back, as certain teams did in the past. It requires patience from my players, but I think they have done well today. For some players it is new to answer questions during the game. We opened the doors that Millwall tried to keep closed. I found ourselves defensively stronger than we have shown in other competitions. Now on to Tuesday night. A beautiful poster where we would like to extend our good home status. ‘

Crystal Palace:

Crystal Palace last Saturday was a master in the game with Newcastle United. Only forgot to score. Four flawless opportunities were not spent on Crystal Palace. Newcastle United, on the other hand, also got a huge chance, but Ayoze Perez encountered goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey that ended the game as it started: 0-0. For Crystal Palace, it meant the first point of the season on Loftus Road. Previous games against Liverpool and Southampton were both lost 0-2. In away games, the Crystal Palace is much better off in terms of results. It already took six points out of three games, making it overall in a neat eleventh place with seven points from six games. That is already a lot better than last season when it did not score any point after four games and even had not yet scored. It is now generally known that Frank de Boer was dismissed as a manager.

Most Premier League teams always choose cup matches between a mix of substitutes and base players who appear at the kickoff. I expect the same scenario next Tuesday evening as Crystal Palace will cross swords with Blackburn Rovers. Players who have small aches will sit on the couch or sit in the stands. Nonetheless, a cup for a smaller club like Crystal Palace is a prize, so it is likely that it will do its best to continue a round.
