Ukraine – Portugal SOCCER PICKS

Before the national team make their way back to their club teams, is still the eighth matchday in the European Championship qualifier on the program. After Belgium was the first team to fix the ticket, more teams can follow on matchday eight.

One of these teams could be determined in the group B top match between Ukraine and Portugal! Both teams have the chance to “cover the lid” – although Portugal needs support for this.

For the Ukrainians, the starting position is extremely comfortable, as the Shevchenko team has played an outstanding qualification so far and would already be able to fix the ticket with a point win against the reigning European champions.

In order for Ronaldo & Co. to cheer in Kiev’s Olympic Stadium on Monday night, Portugal need an away win and a point loss for the Serbs in Lithuania! The bookmakers see in the duel between Ukraine and Portugal, according to current odds, the score but clearly in the advantage. The game starts on Monday at 19:45 pm.

Ukraine:

Ukrainian football has excellent future prospects! In the summer of this year, the U20 national team in Poland celebrated sensationally in the Junior World Cup title victory. But not only the U20 selection in this calendar year to convince, but also the senior team of head coach Andreij Shevchenko. The former world-class striker plays a terrific year with the national team and could reward himself in the game against Portugal with the EM ticket.

In Group B of the European Championship Qualification, Ukraine has a nearly fresh white vest. After six games completed are 16 counters on the credit side. Only in the first leg against Portugal, the Eastern Europeans had to settle for a draw, the remaining games were all won.

Outstanding is especially the defensive, because the Ukraine had to accept only one goal. In view of the defensive strength, a forecast for the sub-2.5 is quite obvious between Ukraine and Portugal.

In the Shevchenko era – since September 2016 he is in office – Ukraine has an outstanding 17-8-5 record. However, the Olympic Stadium in the capital Kiev does not seem to be a favorite place for the Ukrainian national team. Only one of the last six home games in this stadium could win the Ukraine (1-2-3 balance sheet).

On Monday evening, however, already scored a point, so the jubilation knows no bounds. Given the starting position, Ukraine will tend to be destructive and minimize risk.

On Friday night Ukraine played their part in a 2-0 home win against Lithuania (played in Kharkiv). Italy legionnaire Ruslan Malinosvkiy (Atalanta Bergamo) was the celebrated hero with two goals.

Despite the U20 World Cup title, Shevchenko has a relatively routine crew available. With Marlos and Junior Moraes are two naturalized ex-Brazilians in the offensive game up and down.

Most well-known actor is Manchester city legionary Oleksandr Zinchenko. While he is used in the left of the Skyblues on the left, he acts as a clock for his home in the central midfield.

Portugal:

Current European Champion and current UEFA Nations League winner – in recent years Portugal has also been able to win titles on the international stage! The “golden generation” around Luis Figo this was always denied, with a little delay, there was still reason for the southern Europeans to cheer. Closely linked is the success of Portugal, of course, with exceptional artist Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, the Juventus legionnaire is not getting any younger, and considering his age of 34, the European Championship could be his last major event next year. In 161 international matches, the attacker was able to score no less than 94 goals. The 100 mark is only a matter of time – but first it is important to fix another anniversary.

On Monday night in Kiev Cristiano Ronaldo as the fifth player in history could break the 700-goal barrier. Currently he holds 699 hits.

The start to the current European Championship qualifying was pretty bumpy for Portugal. In the prelude, there was only one draw in March against Ukraine and Serbia. Due to the Nations League Finals Portugal was free of play in June and therefore fell behind in the table.

However, the shape curve is clearly up and there have been three sovereign victories in the last three qualifiers.

With four points ahead of Serbia in the Group B table, Portugal can even afford a slip-up. In order to save a hot finish in November, however, the victory in Kiev would be of great importance.

Qualitatively we see the guests again much stronger than the home side and therefore have a tendency in the game between Ukraine and Portugal to predict the score!
