The reigning three-time champion of the South Korean league, Jeonbuk Motors, has started the tournament well, winning its first two matches. However, both victories were very tight and the triumphal goals came in the last minutes, facing rivals of much lower rank. In the opening day, for example, they beat Suwon 1-0 with a goal from veteran Lee Dong Gook in the 84th minute; and last week they beat Busan 1-2 thanks to the goal of South African Veldwijk in discounts.
Likewise, Daegu also had a start with few goals although he tied both matches: 0-0 at home for Incheon United and 1-1 receiving Pohang Steelers. Last season it was one of the teams with the fewest goals against. In addition, the Brazilians Cesinha and Edgar stood out as they are currently pulling the strings again in the team’s attack. He will go to fight the main candidate for the title.
-At home Jeonbuk Motors could not beat Daegu last year: 0-2 and 1-1.
-However Daegu lost the two times he received Jeonbuk in 2019: 0-2 and 1-4.
-Champion Jeonbuk had the best defense of 2019 (32 goals), followed by Daegu (37 goals) who finished fifth.
-Cesinha was the figure of the Daegu in 2019: 15 goals and 10 assists.
