PhD students FC Emmen and Fortuna Sittard meet each other on the early Sunday afternoon. The club from Drenthe would like to book the first home victory in the Eredivisie.
FC Emmen:
For FC Emmen and his supporters the first weeks in the Eredivisie are a voyage of discovery. The club from Drenthe never came out at the highest level. After seven matches, the booty is certainly not disappointing. Especially because of the clever victories at ADO Den Haag and FC Utrecht, Emmen now has seven points. With that, the club is just above the feared line and one has a point more than the opponent of Sunday, Fortuna Sittard.
The victory for the home crowd has been delayed. “For our fans and for ourselves, we want to take that first home victory on Sunday,” central defender Keziah Veendorp said in the run-up to the relegation cracker. Reuven Niemeijer was in the match of last week against Heracles (2-1 defeat) with an injury. He is not available yet. Alexander Bannink is a little doubtful case, but seems to be able to make the kickoff.
Fortuna Sittard:
