Wolfsburg – Bayer Leverkusen PREDICTION (20.09.2020)

Wolfsburg – Bayer Leverkusen SOCCER PICKS

A small group of Bundesliga clubs kick the unofficial champions of company sports. In addition to Hoffenheim and Leipzig, Wolfsburg and Leverkusen are also involved. If we will, the Wölfe and Bayer 04 are the traditional teams among the company clubs. On Sunday there will be a direct duel in the Volkswagen Arena.

Goals are apparently guaranteed, at least from Leverkusen. The Werkself have always scored in the last 35 Bundesliga games against Wolfsburg. There is no comparable series in any other Bundesliga pairing. It is therefore logical to make a prediction of a few goals in the match between Wolfsburg and Leverkusen.

As for the outcome of the game, it will probably not be that easy. The best bookmakers see a minimal tendency towards the score. This assumption could fit, because in the past eight duels between these two clubs, the home team has not won again. Five games even ended with a guest victory.

This statistic could be the door opener to give a tip for a Bayer victory in the match between Wolfsburg and Leverkusen. When comparing the odds of the betting base, however, it can be seen that little things can count, because the odds for a home win are not far from the odds for a success of the guests.

VfL Wolfsburg already has two competitive games in their bones before the Bundesliga start. In addition to the DFB Cup kick-off, a long trip to Albania was already on the program to qualify for the Europa League. The wolves had everything in hand to secure a direct ticket to the group stage and entry into our Europa League tips last year via the Bundesliga.

The only problem was that Wolfsburg left too many points at home. Across all seasons, there was only one win in the last nine home games at the Volkswagen Arena. That should be an indication that between Wolfsburg and Leverkusen the odds on a home win for Lower Saxony should not be alluded to.

However, Oliver Glasner’s team delivered a convincing performance in the European Cup on Thursday, although the duel at the Albanian club Kukesi cannot be compared to a game against Leverkusen. Weghorst (2), Lacroix and Mehmedi were the goal scorers in the clear 4-0 victory. Keeper Casteels managed to defuse a penalty when the score was 2-0.

The Lower Saxony clearly know that a completely different task is now waiting for them. Oliver Glasner even counts the Werkself among the top footballing aristocracy in the Bundesliga.

In addition, some important players are not available for the wolves. Guilavogui (pre-season suspension), Mbabu, Pongracic and William (injured or sick) will not be able to participate.

Where the wolves want to go, the Leverkusen-based company is already there, in the group stage of the Europa League. For the Werkself it’s a bit of a disappointment, because at the BayArena they were prepared to chill the champagne before the group games in the premier class. Now the Werkself have to be at the top of the Bundesliga table again this season in order to play in the Champions League next year.

Peter Bosz’s team can be trusted in any case, even if Kai Havertz and Kevin Volland, two important players, have left the club. In addition to Patrik Schick, a few more newcomers are expected, so that the quality at the Werkself will continue to be extremely high. It is also currently conceivable to make a forecast for the guests between Wolfsburg and Leverkusen.

The first appearance in the new season was very neat. In the DB Cup, home rights were exchanged for Eintracht Norderstedt. At home, the Werkself had no trouble playing out a clear 7-0 win against an overwhelmed opponent.

However, coach Peter Bosz is optimistic about the game with the Wolves. It looks very good for Bayer 04 in terms of personnel. With Leon Bailey, who is still behind in training after his isolation, and Paulinho (cruciate ligament tear), the Werkself are only two players missing on Sunday.
