Watford – Tottenham FREE PICKS
There is a cracker on the program on Vicarage Road this weekend. Watford and Tottenham Hotspur always managed to get the full prize in the first three matches. This weekend at least one of the two teams will have to settle for the first point loss this season.
What a season start for Watford; three played, nine points. With Brighton, Burnley and Crystal Palace, Watford did not score any top teams this season, but it is still good that Javi Gracia’s team won all three games. From Brighton was won 2-0, Watford won against expectations with 1-3 from Burnley and last weekend The Hornets were 2-1 too strong for Crystal Palace. It was again Roberto Pereyra who scored a goal and the Argentinian has already three in it this season. Pereyra also made two against Brighton and gave Watford the win.
Pereyra did not play in the League Cup this week. Where some teams had trouble this week in the League Cup, Watford knew how to win fairly easily. Reading was the opponent of The Hornets and in the Madejski Stadium it was 0-2 in the advantage of Watford on Wednesday-evening. Gracia did not start in his strongest position against Reading, but the players who played wanted to prove themselves. The only eighteen-year-old Domingos Quina got play minutes from Gracia and Quina was responsible for the goals together with Isaac Success. When Tottenham Hotspur comes to visit, Gracia will throw his team back again, because the Spaniard wants the international team as an unexpected leader.
Tottenham Hotspur also has nine points. The Spurs had a hard time in the first game of this season with Newcastle United (1-2 win). Actually, Tottenham did not even earn three points, but a week later The Spurs vomited against Fulham: 3-1 win. Harry Kane then made his first Premier League-goal in August and Kevin Trippier and Lucas Moura also found the net. Tottenham played against Fulham at Wembley and this year FC Barcelona, PSV and Internazionale will also be visiting. The Spurs can thus wet their chests in the Champions League.
Tottenham is not Harry Kane but Lucas Moura is the blinker this season. Moura moved over from Paris Saint-Germain during the winter break and is developing well this season. Heung-Min Son has been active at the Asian Games in recent weeks, but will have to fight for a starting place after the international break. Moura already scored three goals in the Premier League, including two against Manchester United last Monday. Tottenham was able to win 0-3 at Old Trafford, although the result does not fully reflect the proportions on the field. Certainly in the first half, Man United was no less than Tottenham, which was extremely effective after rest.
