Watford – Fulham SOCCER PICKS

On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, a total of five games are scheduled in the Premier League. This is largely due to the semi-finals of the FA Cup that are scheduled this weekend. One of those semi-finalists is Watford, which has to compete against Fulham on Tuesday evening in competition.

Watford:

Watford fell back to tenth on the weekend. At the start of the previous round, The Hornets were still eighth in the Premier League. Unfortunately for Watford, it Saturday wrongly lost 2-1 to Manchester United, while Leicester City and Everton won their duels. As Wolverhampton also lost to Burnley, no man is yet overboard for Javi Gracia’s Watford, as The Hornets can still finish seventh. A seventh place that Watford can sometimes achieve as a Europa League qualifier. Then it still depends on which club wins the FA Cup.

It is also a reason why Watford cannot let go of the competition duel with Fulham. The chance that The Hornets win the FA Cup is not very big. Certainly not because Watford first has to deal with Wolverhampton and in the final it is likely that Manchester City will wait. In short: at Watford it is wise not to put all the senses in the semi-final on Sunday and also to take the duel with Fulham seriously. Gracia seems to be doing that too. Moreover, it is a home game against a weak Fulham and against that Watford should be able to win without too much trouble.

Fulham:

It is time for them to be released from their suffering at Fulham. Fulham is going to relegate to the Championship the question is only when. The Cottagers are nineteenth in the Premier League with fifteen points less than the safe seventeenth place. The formation of interim manager Scott Parker comes into action six times in the Premier League and the gap of fifteen points is therefore theoretically still to be closed. It’s just never going to happen and Fulham supporters realize that too. In addition, Fulham already officially relegates Tuesday night as it loses on Vicarage Road. Honesty dictates that this Fulham also lacks to survive in the Premier League. Defensively, it is unstable and offensive The Cottagers are far too dependent on Aleksandar Mitrović, who cannot take Fulham on a weekly basis.

That Fulham, together with Huddersfield Town, has the weakest defense in the Premier League, proved once again last weekend. At Craven Cottage, Manchester City was the opponent and at Fulham they were pleased that The Citizens only won 0-2. The fact that Manchester City found the net twice in London had more to do with the lack of sharpness at The Citizens than with Fulham’s defense. It was already the eighth consecutive defeat for Fulham and with Watford and Everton as opponents this week, it is not inconceivable that two more defeats will be added.
