Fulham – Arsenal SOCCER PICKS

Sunday afternoon the London derby between Fulham and Arsenal is on the program. The players from the Emirates Stadium are bursting with confidence, while at Fulham this is much less the case.

Fulham:

PhD student Fulham is seventeenth in the Premier League. The Cottagers undoubtedly had seen their return at the highest English level differently. Certainly because in the summer there was plenty of investment by Fulham policy makers. For the time being, this will lead to a seventeenth place in the Premier League. That is only one place above the relegation zone, but the gap on those relegation places is three points. That lead is only three points because Fulham already won this season in the Premier League, something the three lowest clubs did not manage.

Last weekend, Slaviša Jokanović’s team got to watch out for a visit to Everton. At Goodison Park, Fulham crashed hard: 3-0. The Cottagers held a small hour in Liverpool, but then Marcus Bettinelli had to fish three times. In itself it is not a disaster that a club like Fulham loses at Everton, but the last victory in the Premier League dates back almost a month and a half ago. Then Burnley was defeated 4-2. This weekend the London derby against Arsenal is on the program and The Cottagers will sign for an equal result, but that seems almost impossible. Jokanović’s team does not have enough quality to make it difficult for the top teams in the Premier League.

Arsenal:

Unai Emery once started winning with Arsenal and has not stopped. In the first games of the new season, the Spaniard was under direct pressure in the Emirates, but now the former top coach of Seville is doing well. The last eight games that Arsenal played were won and there were still some opponents where The Gunners normally have a problem with. Especially in terms of scoring, the Gunners are doing well: Arsenal scored at least two goals in each game this season, apart from the opening game against Manchester City.

Last weekend, Arsenal won 2-0 vs. Watford in the Premier League. Thursday evening The Gunners also came into action in the Europa League. The long journey to Baku (Azerbaijan) was on the schedule. Henrikh Mkhitaryan stayed in London because of the political tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan in London and more players got peace from Emery. That did not, however, affect the result: Arsenal easily won 0-3 against Qarabağ. In a group with Sporting Lisbon, Qarabağ and Vorskla Poltava, Arsenal is almost certain of the next round. Of course the priority of The Gunners is with the Premier League, but it undoubtedly speaks in Emery’s advantage that he is going through the group stage of the Europa League with two fingers in his nose. At Craven Cottage the Spanish coach of Arsenal will play with his strongest team again.
