Bournemouth – Tottenham SOCCER PICKS

In South West England, the competition between AFC Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur is scheduled for Thursday evening. The home team is second to last in the Premier League and desperately needs the points. The same goes for Tottenham, because the North Londoners are still fighting for European football.

AFC Bournemouth:

The Premier League adventure seems to be over for AFC Bournemouth soon. Eddie Howe’s team is in nineteenth place and Bournemouth is already four points behind in safe seventeenth place. Bournemouth could close that gap on paper. Whether it will be the same in practice is doubtful. Bournemouth lost the last five league games and took only one point in the last seven Premier League games. Confidence has therefore dropped to a low point at The Cherries.

Moreover, Bournemouth has a very tough program ahead of it. Last weekend the men played an away game at Manchester United. The game at Old Trafford was lost 5-2 to The Cherries. With games against Tottenham, Leicester City, Manchester City, Southampton and Everton, Bournemouth still faces some tough opponents in the remainder of the competition. After four excellent seasons in the Premier League, the curtain seems to really fall for Howe and his players in the fifth season.

Tottenham Hotspur:

Tottenham Hotspur also has no season as hoped. The North Londoners are in disappointing eighth place in the Premier League. It is therefore not inconceivable that the Champions League finalist of last season will be missing on the European stage in the coming football year. The Spurs still have to score the necessary points in their last five league games if they want to qualify for the Champions League. With opponents like Arsenal and Leicester City in the last five matches, that is easier said than done.

On Monday-evening, José Mourinho’s team last played. In North London, Everton paid a visit to the Spurs. A changed shot by Giovani Lo Celso in the 24th minute caused Tottenham to score three points against The Toffees. After the game, however, it was only about the collision that Hugo Lloris and Heung-Min Son had after the half time signal. The French goalkeeper rushed to the South Korean winger to tell him that they really should function more as one team at Tottenham. Mourinho said afterwards that he loved the fight between Son and Lloris. According to him, that is only good for his team. The Portuguese booked his bicentenary victory against Everton in the Premier League.
