Greuther Furth – VfL Osnabruck SOCCER PICKS

It is generally not the case that the fans in Fürth are exuberant. However, it is better to have around 3,500 spectators behind you than to play completely in front of empty stands. A spark that jumps from the team to the backdrop or vice versa should not be expected on Sunday at the season opener against VfL Osnabrück.

The odds comparison of the betting base indicates that the Swiss francs are traded as favorites in the home game. If the shamrocks present themselves as they did last time in the DFB Cup, then it will be difficult to score the first three points on the first day of the match. Stefan Leitl’s team did far too little against Meinerzhagen for that.

Therefore we are not sure whether we will blindly follow the best bookmakers in the match between Fürth and Osnabrück with their forecast. VfL Osnabrück is definitely dangerous and has obviously improved significantly in terms of personnel. It will be seen how the team from Bremen Bridge will now act under the new coach Marco Grote.

We think it is not impossible to place a tip on a point win for the guests in the match between Fürth and Osnabrück. However, to be fair, one has to say that VfL also had an extremely difficult time in the first cup round at SV Todesfelde. Anyone who wants to get the three points on Sunday will definitely have to improve.

Fürth:

The anticipation at the Ronhof for the new season couldn’t be greater, because the impression that Stefan Leitl’s team made in preparation was terrific. Although some top performers, Maximilian Wittek, Daniel Keita-Ruel, Maximilian Sauer and Marco Caligiuri, left the club, things could hardly have gone better.

Among other things, the Kleeblätter won their test matches against Bundesliga clubs Hoffenheim and Gladbach. There were signs that we would find the Fürth in the upper range in the table of the second Bundesliga this season. Accordingly, it initially looked like the odds of a home win between Fürth and Osnabrück would be the first choice.

However, the green-whites struggled in the first round of the cup at home against the Oberliga club Meinerzhagen. The underdog even led and only the equalization of Sebastian Ernst forced the extension, in which the outsider naturally ran out of strength and the Franks remained victorious 6-1 thanks to hits from Julian Green, Marco Meyerhöfer (2) and Dickson Abiama (2) .

Nevertheless, there are hardly any signs of personnel changes at the Ronhof for the weekend. Almost all actors are available to Stefan Leitl. Only newcomer Emil Berggreen is unlikely to be part of the game because the former Danish international is still behind in training.

Osnabrück:

Marco Grote follows in big footsteps at VfL Osnabrück. Daniel Thioune had cult and almost legendary status at VfL, because the former coach celebrated great successes as a player and as a coach at the Bremer Brücke. Now Marco Grote is supposed to fix it and he was given numerous newcomers and therefore a very balanced squad.

Even with the violets, the preparation went quite well when they prevailed against the Dutch first division team Heerenveen and played a draw against Arminia Bielefeld. Under these conditions, in the match between Fürth and Osnabrück you should not necessarily make the prognosis that the guests will lose.

However, VfL Osnabrück also struggled last weekend in the cup against Todesfelde. A clear victory for the second division side was expected in advance, but the amateurs fought back as best they could. It was only in the 77th minute that Sebastian Klaas scored the goal of the day, which ensured that the betting base also reported on VfL in the second round in the DFB Cup tips.

There will probably be some changes in the starting XI on Sunday, because Marco Grote could not be satisfied with the performance of his team in Todesfelde. Above all, the lack of a goal threat against a league team should have caused the coach building pain. Nico Granatowski or Ulrich Bapoh could remedy the situation, but are absent, just as injured as Ulrich Taffertshofer and the young Marc Auge.
